To learn more about CIBC, please visit CIBC.com What you'll be doing The Financial Analyst, Reporting is a member of the Data Operations Team who brings a blend of CIBC-related business knowledge and technical skills. The primary role is to manage the end-to-end consolidation process and delivery of financial/management reports to senior management for review on a daily basis. As the prime business steward of applications under our custodian, the analyst is responsible for the collection, generation, distribution and governance of financial data and reports for CIBC. This role will play a key role in managing the relationship with Capital Markets and Treasury CFO groups, Front Office, Middle Office, Risk Management, Accounting Teams and technology support of the applications. Through this relationship the analyst manages continuous improvement initiatives to the applications, including the addition of new value-added financial information and new processes to enhance reporting, and to lead the transition and development of the strategic solution. How you'll succeed Reporting and data stewardship - Manage the collection, generation, consolidation, distribution, and governance of financial data and reports. Perform completeness and reasonability reviews to help ensure data quality, accuracy, and timely delivery to senior management. Process improvement - Optimize and automate data collection processes for applications under your custodian to improve data integrity, efficiency, and reporting outcomes. Identify opportunities to strengthen departmental processes, practices, and technical solutions in alignment with control requirements, including Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) 404 guidelines. Business and project support - Participate as a subject matter expert in business integration initiatives and support the implementation of new systems and processes. Prepare work estimates and project plans, and manage assigned deliverables within agreed timelines. Partnership and stakeholder management - Build strong working relationships across Finance, Capital Markets, Treasury, Risk Management, Accounting, Front Office, Middle Office, and technology teams. Apply your understanding of business and operational needs to support production issues, influence outcomes, and anticipate future requirements. Risk and control oversight - Help ensure security, recoverability, contingency, and capacity considerations are identified and addressed appropriately based on business criticality. Support internal and external audit requests as needed. Knowledge sharing and development - Provide training and guidance to internal partners and maintain current knowledge of regulatory requirements, accounting principles, financial systems, and relevant technologies.
