The Company has established a Latin American Tax and Statutory Accounting Center of Excellence (COE) based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. We are expanding the COE to include a U.S. indirect Senior Tax Analyst role supporting U.S. sales and use tax work. We intend to leverage skills around general accounting, SAP, intercompany processes, fixed assets, sales reporting required for tax returns, accounting and audits. Indirect tax refers to non-income taxes levied by U.S. state and local governments such as sales or property tax. The Senior Tax Analyst role will be involved in all aspects of indirect tax work including providing data to our 3rd party tax return preparer, processing tax payments, reconciling general ledger accounts, posting entries, calculating a reserve balance, tracking tax authority notices and data requested as part of audits. What You Will Do: Review monthly SAP reports that are the basis for sales and use tax reporting for US indirect tax matters. Upload the data for the external tax return preparer to use. Review fixed asset and inventory reports for the annual personal property tax returns for US entities. Coordinate the work with our outside property tax firm. Analyze sales data, Workday and other tools for employee count by jurisdiction to assist with the annual business license process and coordinate the work with outside firm. This includes monitoring new locations, supporting the business units by maintaining business license files and providing copies when requested to internal customers. Support monthly tax payments including the appropriate coding for accounting purposes. Utilize annual estimates of real estate tax, personal property tax and business license costs to set up recurring journal entries to accrue expense. Ensure payments and accruals are aligned and reconcile accounts monthly. Monitor sales tax exemption certificate inbox and respond to basic U.S. sales tax questions, research state tax rules and collaborate with the U.S. based indirect tax team. Support the sales and use tax audits by preparing responses to data requests such as sales by state, purchases by state, fixed asset records and similar financial data. This will require coordination with the centralized fixed asset team, accounts payable, accounts receivable and other internal colleagues. Reconcile related tax accounts throughout the year. Monitor online tax accounts and manual notices to ensure government portals and tax accounts balances align with expectations. Work with an external service provider on the resolution of notices. Report to COE Tax Senior Manager in Buenos Aires with a dotted line to the US Indirect Tax Manager Minimum Qualifications Senior Tax Analyst-level role with 4+ years of experience in relevant role Knowledgeable in accounting principles, processes, and account reconciliation Analytical skills for providing insights, explaining variances Verbal and written communications and experience interacting with stakeholders Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools, technologies, and processes in a dynamic business environment Collaborative teammate English Fluency Preferred Qualifications SAP or similar ERP experience Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word along with Alteryx, Power BI or similar tools Experience with tax matters such as income tax, VAT or U.S. tax matters Continuous improvement mindset, curious nature and ability to automate and standardize monthly and quarterly processes around data management and reconciliation
