Associate Scientist, Product Biochemistry

We are seeking a highly motivated Associate Scientist to join our Product Biochemistry group, supporting in-depth characterization of therapeutic protein candidates for early-stage developability assessments. In this role, you will be part of a group that broadly participates in pre-clinical candidate developability assessments and technology innovation efforts designed to enhance our understanding of novel protein therapeutics using solution-state and computational approaches. When & where: Location: On-site in Tarrytown, NY What you'll do: Conduct sample preparation of protein therapeutics to support biochemical and biophysical characterization experiments, measuring heterogeneity, aggregation state, and thermal stability using liquid chromatography, light scattering, and other techniques to elucidate quality attributes of therapeutic candidates for developability assessment Perform early biochemical and biophysical assessment of novel protein therapeutics, providing input on experimental design and suggesting method optimization to address program needs or characterize attributes of novel protein therapeutics Analyze data and document experiments, results, and findings in an electronic laboratory notebook; draft protocols, and present work at group and departmental meetings Comply with lab safety standards and proactively contribute to a clean and safe lab environment Draft technical documents to support regulatory filings and contribute to drafting peer-reviewed publications, as needed Maintain instruments, contribute to drafting protocols, troubleshoot instrumental/experimental issues, and order/maintain supplies Let's find out if we're a fit: Must-haves: Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biophysics, or a related field Good laboratory practice skills such as preparing samples, buffers, documentation, and maintaining cleanliness Strong initiative and drive to complete tasks, with the ability and desire to learn new technologies Capable of working both independently and within a collaborative environment Excellent oral and written communication skills Experience with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) for analysis and presentation of data Preferred / nice-to-haves: Experience with coding/scripting tools such as MATLAB Experience in automated chromatography (HPLC/UPLC/FPLC), differential scanning calorimetry/fluorimetry (DSC/DSF), spectroscopy (UV-Vis, fluorescence, FTIR, Raman, and/or circular dichroism), and/or static/dynamic light scattering (SLS/DLS/MALS) of protein and/or macromolecules Familiarity with Excel/MATLAB/JMP to facilitate analysis of complex analytical datasets Does this sound like you?
