The pay range is $95,000.00 - $171,000.00 Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. These include labor markets and in some instances may include education, work experience and certifications. The Digital Strategy & Platform team creates seamless online shopping experiences across Target.com and the store network — enriching the digital journey through personalization, simplicity, and intuitiveness. The Site Merchandising Category Refresh team owns Target's premier Category Site Merchandising product: the Category Refresh. The Refresh represents the deepest investment the digital organization makes in a given item type or category — spanning the full end-to-end guest journey, from marketing all the way through post-purchase experience. As Category Site Merch Lead, Refresh, you are the dedicated owner of the Category Refresh product across your assigned business pyramids. You will execute high-impact, end-to-end refreshes built on a structured three-phase process: Guest Persona & Behavior Definition — Define who is shopping a category or item type, how they engage across the digital funnel, and what success looks like from their perspective. Experience Diagnostic — Evaluate Target's current digital experience against identified guest needs, assessing the full journey from marketing and discovery through purchase and post-purchase. Cross-Funnel Strategy Development — Develop prioritized strategies that solve guest needs across the funnel and drive measurable business outcomes. All three phases are synthesized into a detailed Fact Pack — the definitive artifact for each refresh, built for enterprise-wide use across Digital, Marketing, Merchandising, and beyond. In addition to executing refreshes, you will communicate results and insights broadly across the organization, and help mature the Refresh function into a scalable, guest-first, problem-solving capability for digital. Refresh Execution & Fact Pack Delivery Lead end-to-end execution of Category Refreshes — from persona definition and experience diagnostic through strategy development and Fact Pack delivery. Ensure every refresh is executed with rigor, quality, and adherence to established methodology; manage timelines, milestones, and personal accountability for all deliverables. Produce polished, enterprise-ready Fact Packs that are actively utilized across Digital, Marketing, Merchandising, and partner teams. Know the Guest Build detailed guest personas for each category Conduct funnel analysis and customer journey mapping to identify where guest needs are met and where friction or unmet opportunity exists, from marketing through post-purchase. Experience Diagnostics & Analytics Build comprehensive diagnostics that assess how Target's current digital experience satisfies the needs of the identified guest, spanning all funnel stages and devices. Identify friction, discoverability gaps, assortment presentation issues, and experience opportunities through quantitative analysis and competitive benchmarking. Leverage Adobe Analytics, DOMO, SQL Strategy, Communication & Influence Translate diagnostic findings into prioritized, cross-funnel strategies with clear guest rationale and measurable expected outcomes. Create executive-ready storytelling and presentations; communicate findings and refresh results broadly across the organization to drive action. Influence prioritization and gain alignment across stakeholders — including Category Site Merchandising, Strategy & Planning, and Digital Roundtable partners — without direct authority. Function Building & Measurement Track and report refresh impact at the quarterly and annual level; define KPIs and close measurement gaps so refresh value is fully credited across the organization. Continuously improve refresh methodology, Fact Pack quality, and process efficiency — contributing to playbooks, standards, and automation that make the Refresh function more scalable over time. undefined Core responsibilities of this job are described within this job description. About You: Education & Experience 4-year college degree or equivalent experience 6+ years in ecommerce, digital strategy, site merchandising, category management, analytics, or a related field Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives and develop structured strategic artifacts (fact packs, playbooks, briefs) used across an organization Desired Skills Analytics: Deep proficiency conducting category and funnel analysis; experience with Adobe Analytics, DOMO, and basic SQL. Communication & Storytelling: Ability to synthesize multi-phase research into clear narratives and present to varying levels of leadership. Guest Insights: Skilled in persona development, customer journey mapping, and translating behavioral data into strategic direction. E-commerce Expertise: Strong command of digital customer journeys, site experience optimization, and full-funnel performance drivers. Strategic Analysis: Experienced developing business cases, prioritization frameworks, and enterprise-ready deliverables grounded in data. Cross-Functional Influence: Able to drive alignment and action across partner teams without direct authority. Project Management: Manages multiple workstreams simultaneously with strong accountability for quality and timeliness. This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
