As a News Reporter with Polish (12‑month fixed-term contract), you will write real-time headlines and short stories on companies, economies and financial markets. Based in Gdansk, you will be part of Reuters' real-time news operation, covering developments across the region while upholding the highest standards of accuracy, independence and impartiality. Your reporting will appear on Reuters platforms and the Workspace terminal, helping traders, hedge funds, asset managers and other financial professionals make informed decisions. Key Responsibilities Produce accurate headlines and concise news stories on companies, economic developments and financial markets to inform professional and general audiences Monitor company disclosures, conference calls, webcasts and other information channels to identify and verify newsworthy developments Assess announcements and comments to identify information with potential market impact and deliver timely coverage Report on economic indicators and corporate developments with a focus on Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania and Hungary Apply Reuters Trust Principles and newsroom standards to ensure accuracy, speed, fairness and freedom from bias in all reporting Quickly interpret information from source materials and translate relevant developments into clear, market-focused news coverage Required Qualifications Fluent written and spoken English and Polish with strong command of grammar, spelling and punctuation Comfort with handling financial data and facts accurately and quickly Ability to write with speed, clarity, accuracy and freedom from bias Strong news judgment, attention to detail Ability to work under time pressure Willingness to undertake shifts Preferred Qualifications Understanding of corporate activity, stock markets, macroeconomic indicators and financial terminology, or an ability to gain such knowledge quickly Experience covering companies, financial markets, economics or business news Proficiency in Czech, Romanian, Slovak or Hungarian would be an asset #LI-KA1 What’s in it For You? Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The base compensation range varies across locations. For Poland, the base compensation range for this role is 77,000 PLN - 143,000 PLN. Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity.
