Principal Equipment Engineer

We evaluate functional equivalence of equipment and components and author test plans to demonstrate suitability of replacement equipment. When & where: Location: Troy, New York, United States Work model: Onsite Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm Discover your role: Specify cGMP process equipment, components, and spare parts Evaluate equipment for Functional Equivalence to existing equipment Assist in the design review, site acceptance, and installation of equipment Write and execute test plans demonstrating equipment suitability Support QA Validation department by preparing design documents and assisting in protocol execution Author, review, and revise Standard Equipment Specifications Implement corrective/preventative actions for existing equipment Prepare engineering evaluations and test plans for change control documentation Support large capital projects in a spare parts capacity This role requires: BS/BA in engineering and the minimum years of relevant experience listed below for each level. Chemical, biochemical, or mechanical engineering degree preferred Senior Equipment Engineer: 5+ years Principal Equipment Engineer: 8+ years Direct experience in equipment engineering and with biopharmaceutical process equipment is highly desirable Intermediate level knowledge of CAD software and drafting principles Ability to think independently to make quality decisions based on analyzing available and potentially limited information Ability to understand and implement project plans and schedules Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with team members with tact and diplomacy Gowning and Physical Requirements: Full cleanroom attire (Examples may include: including laundered undergarments, gown, facemask, hairnet, safety glasses, safety shoes and booties, latex gloves and the use of sanitizing agents during gowning process including IPA) Ability to remove jewelry, make-up and nail adornments when wearing cleanroom attire Level will be determined based on qualifications relevant to the role Does this sound like you?
