Position summary T-Mobile is America’s supercharged Un-carrier, delivering an advanced 4G LTE and transformative nationwide 5G network that will offer reliable connectivity for all. Senior Engineers, Radio Frequency located in Sunrise, FL will serve as the lead resource for advanced monitoring and review of radio network key performance indicators (KPI) within a market and multiple OEM vendor platforms. Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Develop processes and strategic approaches to problem solving Lead moderately complex projects. Devise inter and intra team processes for system. Serve as KPI subject matter expert in order to improve network performance. Supervise, monitor, and analyzes statistical network performance data. Collect, process and review drive test data. Work with the operations team to troubleshoot complex site network problems. Review data to determine the cause of faulty equipment. Address customer and employee complaints received through information analyzer and other applications. Work with RF Engineers to evaluate and resolve complex issues. Update database with resolution or actions taken. Participate with federal, state and local jurisdictions to ensure regulatory and zoning compliance. Serve as the lead resource for coverage, capacity, and performance activities. Define and develop internal process used for radio network design. Provide capacity planning and growth strategies. Lead the development, testing, and validation of RF feature plan proposals. Define implementation guidelines for approved new features and technologies. Lead team in the application of RF principles to performance activities. Serve as lead subject matter expert on existing/deployed technologies. Mentor engineering and technical staff and host training sessions. Provide engineering support to Sales/Customers. Advise management on tactical and strategic issues. Serve as the lead developer and resource for market, regional, and national planning and performance tools. Telecommuting is permitted, but applicant must work from the worksite location at least 3-4 days per week. No additional national or international travel is anticipated. Skill requirements: Must possess and maintain a valid U.S. driver’s license to perform job-related travel between work sites. (1) Experience applying radio frequency propagation principles, cellular theory, radio frequency engineering tools, antenna theory, and applying knowledge of the 3GPP specifications that governs LTE & NR Air Interface, PHY, MAC, RLC, RRC, PDCP and NAS layers. (2) Experience working with advanced Wireless industry 4G & 5G Radio Network Troubleshooting and Optimization practices to improve Key Performance and Quality indicators including MCS, HARQ, CQI, Throughput, latency, beamforming, voice service session initial protocols (SIP), WPS, Access Failures, EPSFB Failure Rate, LTE/NR Leakage, and Tropoducting interference mitigation. (3) Experience implementing Ericsson and Nokia radio products and network platforms. This includes: designing, monitoring, and optimizing 4G ENodeB, 5G GNodeB, NB-IOT, and mmwave networks; participating in First Office Application (FOA) and Field Alert customization and implementation of vendor-specific RAN features; performing LTE & NR Spectrum planning and frequency reallocation for optimal network capacity; utilizing optimization strategies including MOCN to combine networks; working with Multi-vendor ENDC optimization; providing advance layer management and load balancing between LTE and 5G NSA/SA; and working on congestion mitigation techniques to optimize multi-technologies network up to 6 layers. (4) Experience working with Advanced Data Analytics and Automation that include: utilizing SQL and Python programming for automation and process improvement; developing comprehensive reports and interactive data visualization dashboards utilizing Power BI, Tableau, and Qlik platforms for enhanced data insights; and applying advanced knowledge of MantaRay SON platform for module creation for parameter audits and compliance edits. (5) Experience developing advanced MO shell scripting and command-line interface that includes experience creating and executing XML scripts for cell-site integrations, spectrum retunes, and mass parameter changes. (6) Experience with 4G/5G network design(Macro, Small Cells, Venues, DAS) using ATOLL/ASSET/Mapinfo. Creating RSI and PCI plan to ensure minimum collision and interference. Experience and education requirements: PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering or related, or the foreign equivalent, and 3 years of relevant work experience.
