Vice President, Enterprise Communications & Reputation Job Description Reporting to: Head of Enterprise Marketing, Communications & Events Location: New York City Position Overview The Vice President, Enterprise Communications & Reputation leads Thomson Reuters’ enterprise communications and reputation strategy, helping employees, customers, media, analysts, partners and other stakeholders understand, trust and engage with the company’s strategy, leadership and priorities. Reporting to the Head of Enterprise Marketing, Communications & Events, this role serves as a strategic advisor to senior leadership and is accountable for strengthening employee alignment, leadership confidence, external trust and enterprise reputation across a complex global organization. The Vice President will lead a globally distributed communications organization spanning executive communications, employee communications, corporate communications, Corporate Affairs, media relations, reputation management and related capabilities. This leader will help shape the future-state communications operating model while ensuring the company communicates with clarity, credibility and confidence during periods of transformation, opportunity and risk. Key Responsibilities Enterprise Communications Strategy • Develop and execute an integrated enterprise communications and reputation strategy. • Translate enterprise priorities into a coordinated communications agenda across audiences, markets and moments. • Align internal and external communications around stakeholder needs and business objectives. • Establish governance, planning and prioritization disciplines that improve focus and effectiveness. • Partner across EMC&E, segments, field marketing and business leadership to connect the enterprise story to customers, employees and the market. Executive Influence & Leadership Communications • Serve as a trusted communications and reputation advisor to the CEO and senior executives. • Lead executive communications and positioning efforts. • Support executive thought leadership, keynotes, visibility strategies and high-impact leadership moments. • Guide leadership communications during periods of transformation, opportunity and risk. • Partner with Brand, Thought Leadership, TRI and Events to activate executive narratives and enterprise messaging. Employee Communications • Lead enterprise employee communications, helping employees understand company strategy, priorities, performance, products and their role in delivering them. • Partner with change-management leaders to communicate organizational changes, acquisitions, policy changes, tooling and system changes, and other enterprise programs. • Support enterprise campaigns and launches where employee understanding or action is strategically important. Enterprise Communications & Reputation • Lead enterprise communications, Corporate Affairs and enterprise media relations. • Develop proactive reputation-building and stakeholder-engagement programs. • Oversee issues management, incident communications and crisis readiness, response and recovery. • Support financial, M&A, analyst and other high-value stakeholder communications. • Guide strategic communications related to AI, innovation, transformation and other enterprise priorities. • Partner with Legal, HR, Finance, Security, Government Relations and business leadership during high-impact situations. • Strengthen Thomson Reuters’ position as a trusted authority in the industries and markets it serves. Communications Effectiveness & Organizational Leadership • Lead and develop a high-performing, globally distributed communications team. • Clarify ownership, accountability, decision rights and ways of working. • Build communications governance, operating rhythms, editorial planning and prioritization disciplines. • Establish intake and portfolio-management practices that focus resources on the highest-value opportunities. • Improve effectiveness through content coordination, operational discipline, agency and vendor management, and communications technology. • Define communications measurement requirements and partner with Analytics and insight teams on execution. • Help shape the future-state communications operating model, talent strategy and organizational capability without presupposing final reporting lines. Required Qualifications • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in communications, Corporate Affairs, reputation management or related disciplines. • Experience advising a CEO, C-suite executives and senior leadership teams. • Demonstrated success integrating executive, employee, change, corporate and external communications around an enterprise agenda. • Expertise in reputation, media relations, stakeholder communications, issues management and crisis communications. • Experience leading employee communications and communications for complex transformation. • Experience building and leading globally distributed teams. • Proven ability to design operating models, clarify decision rights and improve organizational effectiveness. • Strong judgment, discretion, candor and comfort operating in high-stakes environments. • Exceptional written, verbal and executive-presentation skills. • Ability to operate effectively in a complex, highly matrixed global organization. • Experience in information-driven, professional services, media, technology or regulated industries is strongly preferred. Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The base compensation range varies across locations. Eligible office location(s) for this role include one or more of the following: New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and/or Irvine, CA; McLean, VA; Washington, DC. The base compensation range for the role in any of those locations is $201,600 USD - $374,400 USD. Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs. This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance.
