Job Posting Title: Husbandry Associate, The Seas with Nemo & Friends Req ID: 10161301 Job Description: As a Husbandry Associate, you will be learning the technical aspects of professional aquatic animal care, acquiring the basic husbandry skills to perform routine tasks at The Seas with Nemo & Friends and The Land under the direction of Animal Care management and guidance of Senior Aquarists. This is a Full time position. You will report to the Zoological Manager. What You Will Do Learn and demonstrate proficiency in basic husbandry skills including but not limited to feeding/watering, medicating, shifting, containment, documentation, and observation Commit to creating positive and informative guest interaction opportunities, effectively interpreting your role to our guests Facilitate guest education on microphone and answer questions about manatees and aquatic conservation Work under close supervision with clearly defined procedures Learn and perform the basic routines of an area/team focused primarily on a narrow scope of species or routines Exhibit positive leadership behaviors with peers and leaders Required Qualifications & Skills Minimum one year paid work experience within an AZA Facility Ability to move 50 pounds Availability to work weekends, with flexibility to work other days as needed Strong communication and public speaking skills for guest engagement Preferred Qualifications & Skills Previous AZA-accredited Aquarium experience Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid certifications Education Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Marine Biology, Biological Sciences, Zoology preferred. The pay rate for this role in Florida is $20.60-$25.75 per hour. The base pay actually offered may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
