Production Support Engineer-Abinitio Big Data

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced professional (6+ years) to join our Application and Production Support team. The ideal candidate will bring a strong blend of technical expertise (Unix/Linux, advanced SQL, Big Data ecosystems, Autosys, and ITIL frameworks) alongside deep domain knowledge in financial services (e.g., Securities, Secured Financing, Rates, Derivatives, Liquidity Reporting, Front-to-Back Office workflows, and the end-to-end trading lifecycle). Key Responsibilities: Provide L2/L3 production support for mission-critical liquidity reporting and financial applications, ensuring maximum uptime, system stability, and optimal performance. Monitor, investigate, and resolve incidents impacting trade capture, batch processing, position keeping, market data feeds, pricing engines, risk analytics, and liquidity reporting. Proactively track and manage alerts, system logs, and scheduled jobs using Autosys, Unix utilities, and enterprise monitoring platforms (e.g., ITRS Geneos, AWP, Grafana, Airflow, Splunk). Execute advanced SQL queries and diagnostic scripts for in-depth data validation, reconciliation, trend analysis, and issue remediation. Support and maintain multi-tier applications built on Stored Procedures, SSIS, SSRS, and Big Data platforms (Hadoop, Hive, Spark) while diagnosing and resolving data pipeline bottlenecks. Maintain, streamline, and author knowledge articles, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and operational runbooks. Actively participate in change management, release governance, and post-deployment validation activities. Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations, drive post-incident reviews (PIR), and implement permanent corrective actions. Partner closely with infrastructure, database, and platform engineering teams on capacity planning, performance tuning, and resilience initiatives. Drive continuous service improvement, system reliability management, and support automation initiatives to minimize operational toil. Required Skills & Qualification: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. 6+ years of hands-on experience in application/production support, including 2+ years operating in a senior or advanced capacity. Strong hands-on technical proficiency with: Unix/Linux (shell scripting, file manipulation, process/job management, and diagnostic tools) SQL & Databases (Oracle or equivalent, complex Stored Procedures) ETL(preferably AB Initio) Big Data Ecosystems (Hadoop, Hive, Spark) Job Scheduling & Workload Automation (Autosys or Control Center equivalent enterprise schedulers) Log & System Monitoring Tools (ITRS Geneos, AWP, Airflow, Splunk, or similar log analyzers) Solid understanding of financial instruments and trade lifecycles (Equities, Fixed Income, Secured Financing / Repo, Derivatives, and Liquidity Management). In-depth understanding of front-office, middle-office, and back-office operations as well as regulatory and financial reporting workflows. Outstanding analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage high-priority incidents in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills across both technical and business functions.
