Job Description Summary As an EHS Specialist, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies. Your responsibilities will involve conducting risk assessments, training employees, and promoting a safe and healthy work environment. Job Description Essential Responsibilities Support the implementation and maintenance of existing EHS programs and policies, ensuring alignment with applicable local, regional, and national regulations and internal procedures. Perform routine safety inspections, safety walks, and area audits using defined standards and checklists; identify and escalate non-conformities and improvement opportunities. Assist with risk assessments (e.g., shopfloor walkdowns, hazard identification, documentation updates) under guidance from senior EHS leader, and track corrective and preventive actions to closure. Deliver basic EHS training and refresher sessions (toolbox talks, onboarding safety briefings) using approved materials; ensure attendance, understanding, and training records are properly maintained. Support incident, accident, and near-miss investigations by collecting initial information, interviewing involved personnel as appropriate, and compiling evidence; contribute to action plans and escalate issues when required. Partner with supervisors and employees to reinforce safe behaviors and comply with EHS standards, promoting a culture of Safety and continuous improvement within the assigned area. Maintain and update EHS records and reporting (audits, incidents, training, inspections, action logs), ensuring accuracy and timeliness of data. Monitor basic EHS performance indicators (e.g., observations, near-miss reporting, action closure, audit results) and prepare periodic summaries for EHS leadership/management, highlighting trends and risks. Stay informed on relevant internal procedures and regulatory requirements affecting the area; communicate updates to stakeholders and seek support/clarification when needed. Participate in emergency preparedness activities and drills, supporting planning, communication to the shopfloor, and capture of lessons learned. Support sustainability and environmental stewardship initiatives (data collection, operational checks, shopfloor engagement) in line with site priorities and established plans. Required Qualifications Master's Degree Engineering - Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field Previous experience in an EHS role Knowledge of Italian EHS regulation (D.lgs. 81/2008 and D.lgs 152/2006) and EHS international standards (ISO14001 and ISO45001) Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SAP Strong oral and written communication skills Ability to prioritize and balance multiple ongoing tasks Fluent Italian and good English knowledge Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required Desired Qualifications Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Why Join Us: At Avio Aero, people power our progress.
