About the roleThis role exists to make sure everybody at Unity — every Partner and Functional Leader, and everyone in their teams — can actually use AI well in their everyday work, and to turn that capability into real automation and productivity gains across the business. It reports jointly to the Chief People Officer and the Chief AI Officer, because doing this well is as much about people, capability and how Unity actually works day to day as it is about the technology itself. It suits someone who lives at the frontier of what's possible with AI — building with the latest tools themselves and evolving their own approach every few weeks, not working from a playbook that's a year out of date. It suits someone who gets real satisfaction from building capability in others, reimagining how work actually gets done, and shipping things that stick, rather than setting technology direction from the top. You'll be building the operational muscle of Unity's AI Centre of Excellence from scratch, and sequencing what matters most first. What you'll ownFirm-wide AI capability and training: design and drive practical AI upskilling across client-facing and enablement teams, working closely with the Performance & Development Lead so AI capability is built into onboarding and ongoing development, not run as a separate initiativeReimagining the work: spot where new AI capability means Unity can remove whole steps or approach a problem completely differently, not just automate what already exists, then get alongside client teams and enablement functions to make it realAutomation and adoption: identify, prioritise and deliver automation that maximises the value Unity gets from the AI tools already in use, and evaluate new ones on their meritsRole and ways-of-working design: as AI takes on more of the work, help Unity rethink who does what, where judgement sits and how junior people learn — including, as whole workflows move onto Weaver, designing the team and role changes that follow: new responsibilities around workflow ownership, supervision, judgement and exceptionsGovernance in practice: implement the policies and guardrails the Chief AI Officer sets for safe, compliant and ethical AI use — covering data privacy and client confidentiality — making sure they're followed in practice without slowing teams downBuild, ship and partner with Engineering: personally build and ship smaller tools and prototypes using the latest AI capabilities; bring in VP Product and Engineering when something needs shared integrations, scaling or ongoing production supportTooling and vendor management: manage the day-to-day AI tooling estate: select, pilot and manage relationships with AI platforms and vendors, and retire what isn't earning its place, working with the enterprise IT team on infrastructure and securityMeasurement and reporting: build a simple set of KPIs for adoption, automation impact and ROI, and report progress jointly to the Chief People Officer and Chief AI OfficerWhat success looks like in year oneEverybody at Unity, from Partners to enablement staff, confident and capable using AI well in their day-to-day workSeveral whole steps or processes genuinely reimagined or removed — not just automated — with visible productivity gains across client delivery and enablement functionsEvery new and existing employee equipped with practical, role-relevant AI skills, not generic trainingA clear, shared view with the CAIO and CPO of how roles, judgement and team shape need to evolve as more work moves onto AI and platforms like WeaverAI guardrails followed in practice across the business, without becoming a source of frictionWhat we're looking forSomeone who lives at the frontier: actively building with the latest AI tools themselves and evolving their own approach every few weeks. Come with examples of what you've built — we want to see it, not just hear about itA senior operator with a genuine track record of delivering AI and automation adoption at an organisational level — we're more interested in evidence of real impact than where you've done it beforeA genuine interest in ways of working, role design and how people actually do their jobs, not just the technology — this is a people and change role as much as a technical oneComfortable building smaller things yourself — prototypes, scripts, workflows — and clear-eyed about when to bring in VP Product and Engineering for shared integrations or production-grade buildComfortable building the operational muscle of a function from scratch, and sequencing what matters most first rather than trying to do everything at onceConfident training and influencing Partners and Functional Leaders directly, translating strategy into practical, adopted valueA pragmatic operator who executes guardrails without adding bureaucracy — in keeping with Unity's "progress over process" and "light scaffolding" principlesExcellent communicator, able to make AI capability accessible and credible to non-technical audiences at every levelHow this role fits at UnityYou'll report jointly into the Chief People Officer and the Chief AI Officer — a deliberate dual line, reflecting that this role is as much about capability, learning and ways of working as it is about AI itself. You'll work closely with the Performance & Development Lead so AI capability-building lines up with Unity's wider approach to development and growth, and directly with Partners and Functional Leaders across client teams and enablement functions on automation, adoption and reimagining how work gets done. With VPs for Product and Engineering, the model is simple: you build and ship smaller things yourself, and bring the team in when something needs shared integrations, scaling or ongoing production support. You'll also work with the enterprise IT team on infrastructure and security.Find Jobs in United Kingdom on Arbeitnow
