Job Description Job Title: Lead Consultant – Software Implementation As a Lead Consultant, you will lead the successful implementation of software solutions for clients across multiple geographies. You will combine strong SQL and software implementation expertise with consulting, stakeholder management, and customer-facing skills to deliver projects from discovery through go-live and post-production support. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, client-focused professional who can understand business requirements, configure and deploy product solutions, conduct testing and training, and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction. You will collaborate closely with customers and internal teams, including Product Development, Support, Pre-Sales, Sales, and Technology. Key Responsibilities Lead end-to-end software implementation projects from kickoff through go-live, hypercare, and transition to the support team. Conduct business requirements workshops to understand customer needs, assess product fitment, and recommend appropriate solutions. Design, configure, develop, test, and deploy software package solutions based on client requirements. Use SQL for data analysis, configuration, troubleshooting, validation, and implementation support. Collaborate with customers to define and execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and resolve identified issues. Support production-readiness planning, go-live activities, and post-production support for escalated issues. Deliver customer training on product functionality, configuration, and effective system usage. Build and maintain strong client relationships and manage key stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. Create and maintain project documentation, including requirements, solution designs, test plans, training materials, and handover documents. Deliver projects within agreed scope, budget, timelines, and quality expectations. Apply quality assurance processes, including unit testing, regression testing, system integration testing, and UAT. Partner with Pre-Sales and Sales teams on proposals, high-level solution designs, demonstrations, prototypes, and proof-of-concept activities. Participate in consulting engagements such as solution health checks, roadmap workshops, and advisory sessions, as needed. Collaborate with internal teams across Product Development, Technology, Support, Pre-Sales, Sales, and Product teams to resolve issues and improve solutions. Support the handover of implemented solutions to product support teams after production deployment. Travel to client locations for implementation, workshops, product demonstrations, and related customer-facing activities, as required. Contribute to practice development, knowledge sharing, competency-building initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts. Use AI-enabled development and testing tools, where appropriate, to improve delivery efficiency and quality. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, with strong exposure to Information Technology and/or Business Management. 4–10 years of relevant experience in SQL programming, software implementation, product development, technical support, or a related technology consulting role. Strong proficiency in SQL, including data analysis, querying, troubleshooting, and supporting software implementations. Experience in at least one of the following areas:Software or enterprise product implementationProduct developmentApplication or product supportTechnology consulting Experience gathering and analyzing business requirements and translating them into practical product or solution configurations. Experience supporting testing activities, including UAT, system integration testing, regression testing, or unit testing. Strong customer-facing consulting, influencing, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong planning, organization, documentation, and time-management skills, with close attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver work within defined scope, timelines, and budgets. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Working knowledge of project and issue-management tools such as JIRA. Ability and willingness to travel to customer locations as business needs require. Positive, collaborative mindset and a strong willingness to learn. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of Global Trade, trade compliance, supply chain processes, or related business domains. Experience implementing or supporting large enterprise systems, such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms. Familiarity with Thomson Reuters products or relevant competitor products. Experience supporting customers in Japan, China, or other Asia-Pacific markets. Proficiency in additional languages, particularly Japanese and/or Chinese. Experience assisting Pre-Sales or Sales teams with proposals, solution design, demonstrations, prototypes, or proof-of-concept engagements. Experience conducting consulting engagements such as system health checks, solution assessments, or roadmap workshops. Familiarity with AI tools used for software development, testing, documentation, data analysis, or delivery productivity.
