The EHS Manager is accountable for leading Environmental, Health, Safety, Occupational Health, and Business Continuity Management (BCM) programs for the Westborough site and supporting additional sites as assigned. This role has direct leadership responsibility for the local EHS team, as well as oversight and performance management of the Waste Management contractor and the Occupational Health Nurse, ensuring compliance, effectiveness, and alignment with Cytiva and Danaher standards. Recognized as a subject matter expert, the EHS Manager partners closely with site leadership, Facilities, Operations, Engineering, Security, and HR to identify hazards, mitigate risk, investigate incidents, implement preventive solutions, and maintain business continuity readiness. The role blends hands-on execution with strategic planning and regularly influences leadership decisions that impact people, operations, regulatory standing, and site resilience. This position reports to the Site Leader and is part of the Environmental, Health, Safety, and Sustainability department located in Westborough, MA and will be an on-site role. What you will do: Lead site-level Environmental, Health, Safety, Occupational Health, and BCM programs in alignment with Cytiva and Danaher standards. Serve as the primary EHS point of contact for site leadership, regulators, contractors, and external stakeholders. Drive site EHS and BCM strategy, translating enterprise goals into actionable local plans, metrics, readiness activities, and continuous improvement priorities. Ensure compliance with applicable OSHA, EPA, Massachusetts state, local, and related EHS regulatory requirements, permits, reporting obligations, audits, inspections, and corrective action plans. Lead risk assessments, hazard analyses, job safety reviews, incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective/preventive actions across facilities, laboratories, and operational areas. Partner with Facilities, Engineering, Security, HR, and Operations to manage contractor safety, construction safety, management of change, shutdowns, capital projects, emergency preparedness, response, and incident command structures. Lead the Westborough Business Continuity Management (BCM) system, including business impact assessments, continuity planning, plan maintenance, tabletop exercises, recovery plan testing, and coordination with site and enterprise stakeholders to strengthen operational resilience. Who you are: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, Sustainability, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field. 3+ years of Environmental, Health, and Safety experience in a manufacturing, life sciences, or other regulated environment. 3+ years of people leadership experience, including responsibility for coaching, performance management, and team development. Knowledge of U.S. federal, Massachusetts state, and local EHS regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and related regulatory requirements. Experience leading incident investigations, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, compliance audits, and risk assessments. Experience managing EHS programs within a manufacturing environment, including contractor management, change management, and regulatory compliance. Experience leading Business Continuity Management (BCM), emergency preparedness, crisis management, or operational resilience programs. Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: if applicable for role Ability to travel up to 10% of the time, including possible overnight travel to other Cytiva or Danaher sites, trainings, or workshops. Ability to work in an on-site manufacturing environment, including laboratories, facilities areas, construction or maintenance work zones, and production floor environments while wearing required personal protective equipment. Ability to lift, move, or carry equipment up to 50 lb. It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: EHS professional certification such as CSP, ASP, CIH, CHMM, or equivalent. Experience in an ISO 14001 certified manufacturing environment. Danaher Business System (DBS), Lean manufacturing, PDCA, Daily Management, Visual Management, or Process Solution Planning methodologies. The annual salary range for this role is $100,000 - $130,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future. This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay. We offer comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
