Work Flexibility: Onsite What you will do Provide functional and disciplinary leadership to the EHS team and coordinate additional internal and external EHS resources Further develop and implement the global EHS strategy at our Freiburg / Stetten site in line with legal, regulatory and internal requirements Take ownership of the effectiveness and continuous development of the EHS management system, including ISO 14001 and ISO 50001, and ensure existing certifications are maintained Ensure compliance with relevant EHS legislation, standards and Stryker requirements while advising key stakeholders on EHS matters Drive effective EHS risk management, including risk assessments, incident investigations, preventive measures and emergency response Lead EHS management of change processes related to changes in processes, plant and equipment as well as capital investment projects Implement and continuously improve EHS standards, audit and assurance programs as well as relevant training initiatives Prepare, analyze and report relevant EHS metrics and contribute to budget and capital investment planning Initiate and lead strategic and cross-functional projects focused on continuous improvement, efficiency and cost optimization What you will need Required qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, natural sciences, environmental engineering or a comparable field Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally with extensive EHS experience within a regulated manufacturing organization Several years of direct people leadership experience, including experience in developing and supporting employees Strong knowledge of relevant EHS legislation as well as regulatory and local requirements Experience in developing and delivering EHS training programs Strong knowledge of risk management, change control, auditing, SOP development and document management Experience in process design and implementation as well as relevant management systems High degree of independence, accountability and strong interpersonal skills Strong “Safety First” mindset and the ability to authentically role-model and embed a strong safety culture across the organization Broad understanding of objectives, processes, resources, strategies and interactions across multiple functions within a complex organization Fluent German and English skills, both written and spoken Preferred qualifications: Expertise in Quality and/or Manufacturing, ideally within a GMP-regulated environment Relevant professional EHS/safety certification, e.g. Sicherheitsfachkraft (Sifa), Certified Safety Professional/Manager or a comparable qualification Experience with EHS management systems and relevant standards, particularly ISO 14001 General understanding of external challenges and developments within the industry and their potential impact on the business Additional information: Permanent full-time employment contract (39 hours/week) Approx. 10% travel Due to the close connection to our manufacturing operations, this position requires a high level of onsite presence Diversity is important to us.
