Job Location BUCHAREST OFFICE Job Description The Data & BI Engineer designs, builds, and operates the data models, pipelines, and reporting layer that turn our Key Opinion Leader (KOL) / influencer marketing platform's operational data into trusted analytics. Working hands-on across Cloud Spanner (the platform's transactional database), BigQuery (analytical warehouse), and Looker (BI and dashboards), this role powers reporting across the end-to-end campaign lifecycle — partner discovery, contract automation, campaign execution, content performance, brand-safety, and adoption tracking. The role supports the Social Digital Products space. Key Responsibilities Design, evolve, and optimize data models and schemas in Cloud Spanner — tables, primary keys that avoid hotspots, secondary indexes, and interleaved (parent-child) tables — and write efficient, parameterized DML and queries with sound read-only vs. read-write transaction handling Design, build, and operate GCP data pipelines that move and transform data from Cloud Spanner (OLTP) into the BigQuery analytics warehouse, using federated queries (EXTERNAL_QUERY), scheduled queries, and BigQuery Data Transfer Service Model the BigQuery warehouse across staging and curated layers, applying partitioning, clustering, and cost-aware design for performance and spend control Develop and maintain reporting views and analytical SQL (window functions, incremental logic, reconciliation) that feed dashboards and downstream consumers Develop and extend our Looker (LookML) semantic layer — models, views, explores, dashboards, and persistent derived tables (PDTs) — and build and maintain Looker data tests and custom visualizations Own data quality, freshness, and reconciliation across both Spanner and BigQuery: implement tests, monitoring, and alerting so metrics are accurate and trustworthy for leadership reporting Integrate data from social platforms, third-party influencer marketplaces, comment / brand-safety annotation jobs, and internal P&G systems into the warehouse Orchestrate pipelines and jobs with Cloud Workflows, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Scheduler; manage secrets with Secret Manager and logs with Cloud Logging Contribute to Terraform for Spanner instances/databases, BigQuery datasets, scheduled queries, connections, and IAM, supporting self-serve provisioning and policy guardrails Optimize query performance and cost across Spanner and BigQuery, and identify and implement reliability and cost-reduction opportunities across the data and BI layer Partner with analysts, product managers, and engineers to translate reporting requirements into well-modeled, reusable data products, and uphold data-modeling standards, documentation, and conventions (P&G fiscal calendar, sector/brand taxonomy) Apply security and governance best practices: parameterized queries, least-privilege IAM, row/column-level access where required, and no hardcoded secrets Preferred Certifications (nice-to-have, not required) Professional Data Engineer – Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Associate Cloud Engineer – GCP Looker LookML Developer / Looker Business Analyst – Google Cloud HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate Job Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field Experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, BI development, or a related field Strong SQL, with hands-on BigQuery experience (partitioning, clustering, window functions, scheduled queries, cost optimization) Hands-on experience with Cloud Spanner (or a comparable distributed/relational database): schema and data modeling, DDL/DML, primary-key and hotspot design, secondary indexes, interleaved tables, transactions, and query optimization Hands-on experience developing in Looker / LookML — models, views, explores, dashboards, and PDTs Experience building data pipelines on GCP (BigQuery, Cloud Workflows, Pub/Sub, Cloud Run, Cloud Scheduler, BigQuery Data Transfer Service), including federated queries between Spanner and BigQuery Proficiency with Python for data processing, automation, and pipeline tooling Experience with data modeling (dimensional / star-schema) and building curated, reusable data marts Familiarity with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code for data resources Understanding of data quality, testing, and observability practices Working knowledge of Git, CI/CD, and conventional commits Awareness of data security and governance (least-privilege IAM, parameterized queries, PII handling, HTTPS-only) Nice to have: custom Looker visualizations; Dataform or dbt; experience with marketing / campaign or social-media data Becoming part of P&G, you will benefit of: Competitive salary package, annual bonus and vacation bonus Private medical insurance & life insurance & 24 Hours Accident Insurance Stock Ownership Plan - You have the opportunity to buy P&G shares quoted on the New York Stock Exchange to participate in the profits of the Company and the company will match part of the investments Flexible working schedule & Hybrid Work from Home/Work from Office option Meal allowance of 40 lei / worked day and access to our private canteen Flex Benefits Fund allows employees to customize their benefits according to their unique situations, aspirations, and life stages.
