Infrastructure Engineer (Server & Network Setup)

This is a remote position.StackAdroitLLP is building a private, production-grade server infrastructure similar to dedicated cloud providers like AWS andDigitalOcean.We’relooking for a skilledInfrastructure Engineerto architect and set up a fully self-hosted environment using Dell servers, enterprise-grade storage, and internal networking hardware.You’lllead the buildout of the physical and network layer of our custom server stack.ResponsibilitiesConfigure and deployDell PowerEdge R760 servers(BIOS, RAID, firmware, iDRAC)Set up server storage (NVMeRAID, ZFS, BOSS boot)Configure patch panels, switches, VLANs, and internal network cablingDeploy and secure Linux-based OS (Ubuntu,Proxmox, or RHEL)Optimizeserver performance (thermal, power, fan tuning)Set up internal firewalls (pfSense/OPNsense), VPN, and VLAN segmentationCollaborate with DevOps for container/Docker/Kubernetes readinessDocument all configurations and provide best practice recommendationsRequirements Required Skills Proven experience withDell enterprise hardware(R750/R760 preferred) Deep knowledge ofRAID, SSD/NVMe, BOSS controllers Strong Linux system administration (Ubuntu/Debian or RHEL) Networking: VLANs, LAG, IP planning, switch/firewallconfig Experience with patch panels, rack layouts, cable management Familiarity withpfSense, Unifi, or managed L2/L3 switches Understanding of enterprise server monitoring and power design Bonus Skills (Nice to Have)Hands-on experience withProxmox, ZFS, orTrueNASExperience setting up Docker,Portainer, or K3s (with DevOps team)Familiarity with Cloudflare, NGINX,WireGuardUnderstanding of data center airflow/power planningEngagement DetailsProject-based with potential for long-term supportHybrid (remote with in-person setup if local)Must be available for consultation, hardware selection input, and live configuration sessionsBenefits Why Join Us?
