Work Schedule Standard (Mon-Fri) Environmental Conditions Laboratory Setting, Office Job Description Position Summary As a Junior System Engineer – Verification & Investigation, you will support the development and continuous improvement of our Desktop Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) products. You will perform hands-on laboratory testing, verification and validation, troubleshooting, and technical investigations, working with multidisciplinary engineering teams to understand product behavior, identify root causes, and implement improvements. This role is part of the expansion of our Brno Development Center, offering the opportunity to work with experienced engineers across multiple technical disciplines and contribute directly to innovative scientific instruments. Our Technology Our Desktop SEM business develops advanced scanning electron microscopes used worldwide in materials science, manufacturing, research, and quality assurance. Our products combine: Electron optics and vacuum technology Precision mechanics and mechatronics Embedded electronics Scientific software and user interfaces Image acquisition and analysis Manufacturing automation and system integration Key Responsibilities Execute system verification and validation activities for components, subsystems, and complete SEM systems. Plan and perform hands-on laboratory testing and engineering experiments. Develop test procedures, analyze results, and prepare clear technical documentation. Troubleshoot complex technical issues and perform structured root-cause investigations. Recommend corrective actions and product improvements based on investigation results. Support engineering changes, product releases, and new product introductions. Collaborate with Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, Software, Manufacturing, Quality, and Service teams. Participate in technical and design reviews. Identify opportunities to improve product quality, testing methods, and engineering processes. Contribute to knowledge sharing and engineering best practices within the Brno Development Center. What We’re Looking For Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field. Experience with laboratory testing and engineering experiments. Experience troubleshooting complex technical systems. Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills. Ability to interpret test results and translate findings into technical recommendations. Good technical documentation and communication skills in English. A practical, hands-on approach and curiosity to understand how complex systems work. Nice to Have Experience with SEM or other scientific instrumentation, verification and validation methodologies, mechatronic systems, vacuum technology, quality processes, or supplier/component qualification would be an advantage.
