AEO Content Strategist

  • Chime Financial, Inc
  • San Francisco, CA, USA
  • Growth Marketing

About the Role People increasingly find financial products by asking ChatGPT, Gemini, and Google's AI Overviews and AI Mode instead of scrolling search results. Chime's Organic Growth team helps members find Chime without paid media. Chime is already one of the most visible brands in AI answers in several core banking categories, and we want to widen that lead. We're hiring an AEO Content Strategist to own the content and citation work that wins in AI search. You'll run Chime's blog from planning through publishing, run our AI-powered content workflows, and earn Chime coverage on the third-party sources AI models trust most. You'll partner closely with our Principal, AI Search Strategy & SEO, who sets Chime's AI search strategy, priority categories, targets, and measurement. You'll own the content that helps us hit those Visibility targets. This is a hands-on role with plenty of room for strategy. In the same week you might find a citation gap in a high-value category, brief a publisher partner, move a refreshed article through compliance review, and publish it in our CMS. In this role, you can expect to Own Chime's blog and editorial content plan for SEO and AEO. You'll turn priority categories, prompt data, and member insights into a sequenced roadmap that helps Chime own its story and earn accurate, positive citations in AI answers. Run the editorial calendar and keep a steady publishing cadence. Structure content so AI models can find, understand, and cite it, with clear answers, clean formatting, and accurate, current product details (like rates, limits, and eligibility) in Contentful. Lead content across Chime.com, including product launches and seasonal moments with Product Marketing. Lift conversion on the blog and site through inline CTAs, email capture, stronger conversion paths, and regular CRO testing. Manage the day-to-day relationship with AirOps, our AI content optimization platform, and automate manual steps in the content lifecycle, from drafting and optimization to disclosures and CMS publishing. The goal is faster turnaround without losing quality. Lead offsite visibility with affiliate and publisher partners, and manage the AI visibility budget. Find where Chime is missing from the sources AI answers cite, brief partners on accurate product information, and track placements from request to live. Move content through Legal & Compliance and partner bank review, managing a high-volume queue and using AI-assisted pre-review tools to speed up approvals. Work with PR, Brand, Social, YouTube, and Help Center so what the web says about Chime is accurate and consistent. Track citations, AI visibility by topic, rankings, traffic, and enrollments. Run experiments on format, structure, and CTAs, and bring what you learn to the weekly organic performance review. To thrive in this role, you have 5+ years of experience in editorial strategy, content strategy, or SEO content, with a track record of growing organic visibility, traffic, or conversions. Hands-on AEO/GEO knowledge: how LLMs and AI answer engines choose and cite sources, and how content structure, accuracy, and third-party coverage affect visibility. Experience with AI content tools and workflows (for example AirOps, Profound, or LLM-based writing and optimization tools), and real enthusiasm for automating repetitive work. Experience publishing in a regulated industry such as financial services, fintech, insurance, or healthcare, including managing content through legal and compliance review. Hands-on experience with a CMS (Contentful preferred) and with Jira or similar ticket-based workflows. Experience managing freelancers, agencies, or external partners, including timelines, quality, and budget. Strong writing and editing skills, a sharp eye for accuracy, and the ability to turn performance data into clear recommendations. Ability to manage many workstreams and stakeholders at once in a fast-changing area, with little supervision. #LI-Onsite #LI-AM1 Below is the base salary offered for this role and level of experience. Full-time employees may also be eligible for bonus(es), competitive equity, and benefits. For commissioned roles, the base salary listed in this job description does not include incentive/variable pay.
