Job Responsibilities: The Quality Technician is responsible for conducting the core quality assurance and quality control inspections to ensure that products meet defined standards, specifications and customer expectations. The role involves inspecting materials and finished products, conducting tests and measurements, analysing data and identifying areas for improvement. The Quality Technician works closely with production, engineering and logistical teams to maintain compliance with internal procedures. They play a key role in identifying non-conformances, protecting downstream customers, assisting with root cause analysis and supporting corrective and preventive actions. Additionally, the Quality Technician helps maintain accurate documentation, participates in audits where required contributes to improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing product quality, process performance and customer satisfaction. Role Responsibilities: Chiefly responsible for conducting core control plan activities; x-ray, GOM scanning, torque testing. Support Engineering and Launch teams by facilitating additional measurement requests as/when required. Contribute to standard work development and assist in training and rollout. Support GP12/Quality Gate product reviews and data analysis. Assist the Quality Engineering team with calibration preparations. Act as an appraiser in various MSA activities as/when required. To be computer literate and able to use MS Office applications; Word, Excel, PowerPoint (MiniTab would be an asset). Transfer computer literacy to use the business’ MES robustly to aid investigation into identified non-conformances. Stop processes which are producing non-conforming products. Be the voice of quality on the shop floor – lead by example and help to develop business-wide understanding of Quality and its related processes and procedures. Conduct Quality Process and Product Audits. Other duties as required by the Shift Quality Engineer. EXPERIENCE: Essential Excellent communication skills for interfacing with internal stakeholders. Quality experience within a shopfloor manufacturing environment. Strong analytical skills. Basic understanding of the Quality Core Tools – APQP, SPC, MSA, FMEA & PPAP. Proficient with Business Operating Systems in accordance with IATF 16949. Computer literacy, transferrable to MES usage. Desirable Die casting experience. Experience using X-ray machine. Experience using first principle measuring equipment. Experience with tactile/blue light measurement systems (CMM, GOM). Active interest in new technological developments. Qualification in quality/continuous improvement. Personal Attributes: Good interpersonal skills with hands-on problem-solving experience. Self-motivated, able to initiate and follow through tasks to completion. Analytical with a data-driven mindset. Work collaboratively to achieve project/business goals. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Objectivity – display the ability to effectively challenge. Open minded to the impact of suggestions from the team.
