The Opportunity We are recruiting a dynamic, self-motivated Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Professional to join the Caterpillar Oil & Gas and Marine Division (COGMD) team at our Wimborne facility. This is a highly visible, site-based role focused on partnering with employees and leaders to understand work as performed, identify opportunities to reduce risk, and support a strong Safety Driven culture. The successful candidate will lead EHS and environmental compliance activities, support ISO 14001 management systems, facilitate learning from incidents and operational events, and help drive continuous improvement across the site. A significant proportion of time will be spent in manufacturing, warehouse and operational areas coaching employees, verifying critical controls, supporting regulatory compliance, and helping teams achieve safe, reliable and sustainable outcomes. What you will do: Partner with manufacturing and support teams to identify hazards, assess risk and implement practical, sustainable solutions. Conduct workplace inspections, audits, risk assessments and EHS observations to verify controls and corrective actions are effective. Facilitate Safety Driven incident response and learning activities, supporting reality capture, identification of contributing factors, risk reduction and organizational learning. Deliver EHS training, coaching and awareness activities that strengthen a positive safety culture and employee ownership. Coordinate EHS management system activities, including assessments, audits, action tracking and regulatory compliance requirements. Support environmental management programs, including ISO 14001 conformance, environmental compliance activities and coordination of external audits. Monitor EHS performance indicators, identify trends and recommend opportunities for continuous improvement. Support emergency preparedness, contractor management and other key site EHS programmes Build strong relationships with employees and leaders through regular engagement, coaching and presence in operational areas. Provide EHS support to the wider Marine Services initiatives and projects as business needs evolve, which may include up to 10% travel. What You Will Bring NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) as a minimum; Diploma or equivalent desirable. Previous EHS experience, preferably within a manufacturing, industrial, engineering or operational environment. Working knowledge of EHS legislation, management systems and compliance requirements. Knowledge of, or interest in developing expertise in, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems. Ability to communicate technical information clearly and influence employees, supervisors and leaders at all levels. Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to identify practical risk reduction opportunities. Experience supporting incident investigations or learning activities, with an interest in developing approaches that understand work as performed and reduce operational risk. Excellent organisational and planning abilities. A proactive, hands-on approach with a passion for engaging employees and spending time in operational areas.
