Linux Systems Engineer (Kubernetes & AWS)

Key Responsibilities Maintain & Develop Linux Infrastructure: Ensure 24x7 availability of our Linux environments. System Administration: Manage, coordinate, and implement software updates, patches, and hotfixes on servers. Support Across Levels: Provide L1, L2, and L3 support for server issues. Automation & Scripting: Develop scripts to automate routine tasks and improve overall system efficiency. Collaboration: Work closely with teams to design and deploy automation strategies using tools like Kubernetes and Ansible. Cloud & Virtualization: Manage virtual environments in AWS and internal VMware ESX environments. Server Management: Deploy and manage both physical and virtual servers, ensuring scalability and performance. Performance Monitoring: Proactively monitor systems, troubleshoot performance issues, and optimize system capacity. Disaster Recovery: Participate in Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity Planning (BCP) drills. On-Call & Weekend Support: Provide on-call support as needed and scheduled weekend support. Key Qualifications 5+ Years of Experience as a Linux Administrator in complex environments. Expertise with Linux (RedHat) in both physical and virtual environments. Hands-on Experience with Kubernetes, VMware Tanzu, and AWS infrastructure. Strong knowledge of server hardware (HPE or similar) and architecture. Scripting & Automation: Proficiency in developing scripts (Python, Bash, etc.) to automate tasks. Cloud Expertise: Experience working with AWS and managing virtual machines. Experience with server clustering and Veritas cluster technologies is a plus. Windows OS knowledge is an added advantage. Originally posted on Himalayas
