Senior Business Analyst – Exchange Trading & Financial Markets

We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Business Analyst with a strong background in financial services and exchange trading. In this role, you will contribute to the analysis and delivery of sophisticated trading capabilities, working at the intersection of business requirements, financial markets and technology.You will collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders, including business representatives, product managers, architects, developers and testing specialists, translating complex market and business needs into precise, implementation-ready specifications.Contract: Personal Lease / ContractorContract Duration: 12 monthsLocation: Zürich, SwitzerlandWork Model: Hybrid – 50% remoteResponsibilities:Analyse and structure complex business requirements within financial markets, exchange trading and market infrastructureTranslate business and operational needs into detailed functional and technical specificationsAnalyse the functionality of trading platforms and matching engines, including order processing, execution flows and trading lifecycle processesDefine and document requirements related to different market models and exchange-traded financial instrumentsPrepare comprehensive business requirements, functional specifications and interface specificationsEvaluate the impact of new requirements and changes across interconnected systems, processes and interfacesWork closely with product management, business stakeholders, solution architects, developers and QA teams throughout the delivery lifecycleSupport backlog refinement, feature definition, implementation planning and delivery within an Agile environmentEnsure requirements are sufficiently detailed, consistent and actionable for development and testingContribute to the analysis of topics related to trading, market data, reference data and regulatory requirements 7+ years of professional experience in financial services, ideally with a significant focus on requirements engineering or business analysis4–6 years of experience with exchange-traded financial products, with strong expertise in:Fixed IncomeStructured ProductsExperience with Equities and ETFs is an advantageExcellent understanding of trading platforms and matching enginesStrong knowledge of order handling and order management, trade execution workflows, market models, trading lifecycle processesProven ability to analyse and specify complex trading functionality across multiple systemsExperience assessing business, operational and technical dependencies and impactsStrong track record in creating business requirements, functional specifications, interface specifications and implementation-ready documentationExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills combined with a high level of attention to detailUnderstanding of market data, reference data and relevant regulatory considerationsStrong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across business and technology teamsExperience working in Agile delivery environmentsFluent written and spoken EnglishFind Jobs in Switzerland on Arbeitnow
