Our purpose encourages everything we do by creating a culture in which diversity is celebrated and inclusion assured, for our people, customers, and partners. We provide a platform for our people to do their best work and make an impact to the business, and we support our people’s career ambitions. We pledge to make Prudential a place where you can Connect, Grow, and Succeed. The Finance Engagement Lead is the single point of financial accountability for the portfolio of projects delivered under Technology Accounting and Procurement within Group Technology. The role owns the end-to-end financial management of these projects, covering resource costs (internal staff, contractors and vendor professional services) and non-resource costs (software licences, cloud and infrastructure, hardware and third-party services), from budgeting and forecasting through to actuals, accruals and close. As Group Technology provides shared technology systems to Prudential’s local business units, the role also designs, implements and runs the recharge methodology and mechanism that allocates and bills technology costs to the local entities using those systems. The role works closely with Group and local Finance, Procurement, project and platform owners, and senior stakeholders across the region to ensure costs are transparent, fair, and well-governed. JOB DESCRIPTION Role and Responsibilities Recharge Methodology and Mechanism Designs, documents and maintains the Group Technology recharge methodology, defining the cost pools, allocation drivers (for example user counts, transaction volumes, licence consumption or service usage) and principles used to bill local entities for the technology systems they consume. Runs the periodic recharge cycle end to end, including data collection, allocation calculations, validation, entity sign-off, intercompany invoicing and reconciliation of recharged amounts against the underlying cost base. Engages Chief Financial Officers and finance teams of local entities to explain recharge outcomes, resolve queries and disputes, and secure agreement on annual recharge budgets and rates. Reviews the methodology annually, and whenever new systems are onboarded or decommissioned, to keep allocations fair, transparent and aligned to actual consumption. Project Financial Management Owns the financial management of all projects under Technology Accounting and Procurement, tracking budgets, forecasts, actuals and commitments for both resource and non-resource costs. Leads the budgeting and periodic reforecasting cycles for the project portfolio, consolidating inputs from project managers and challenging assumptions where required. Manages resource cost tracking, including headcount and contractor costs, rate cards, timesheet-based cost allocation and vendor professional services spend. Manages non-resource costs, including software licences, subscriptions, cloud and infrastructure consumption, hardware and other third-party spend. Reporting, Governance and Controls Produces regular financial reports for project sponsors and Group Technology leadership, giving clear visibility of spend and forecast. Establishes and maintains financial controls over project spend and recharges. Acts as the main point of contact for internal and external auditors on project finance and recharge matters, and drives timely closure of any audit findings. Identifies financial risks, cost overruns and savings opportunities early, and recommends corrective actions to project owners and leadership. Stakeholder Engagement and Continuous Improvement Works with Group Finance, local finance teams, project managers and technology platform owners to align on cost ownership, reporting timelines, and financial processes. Develops guidance and runs training sessions so that project managers and stakeholders understand financial processes, cost policies and the recharge model. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline; a postgraduate qualification such as an MBA is an advantage. Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CA or CIMA. At least 10 years of relevant experience in finance, audit, finance transformation or project finance, ideally including time in a Big Four or consulting firm, a shared service centre or a regional or group function. Proven experience in cost allocation, intercompany recharging, transfer pricing support or shared services cost recovery. Personal attributes: analytical, meticulous, accountable and proactive, with the confidence to challenge stakeholders and the ability to work independently in a hybrid, multi-country environment. Mandatory skills Understanding of financial reporting standards (IFRS/MFRS), internal controls and governance frameworks. Hands-on experience with budgeting, forecasting, accruals, variance analysis and capital versus operating expenditure treatment. Ability to design cost models and allocation methodologies, and to explain them clearly to finance and non-finance audiences. Excellent stakeholder management, communication and facilitation skills, including experience working with senior finance leaders across multiple countries. Experience working on or supporting large technology or finance transformation projects. Preferred skills Experience in the insurance or financial services industry, or in a group technology or shared services organisation. Experience with ERP and planning systems such as Oracle, SAP (including SAP BPC) or Anaplan, and with analytics tools such as Power BI. Experience in process improvement and automation of finance processes. Fluency in English; additional regional languages such as Malay are an advantage. Prudential is an equal opportunity employer.
